Kitano Tenmangu Shrine is the main shrine of all Tenmangu shrines, dedicated to the deity of learning, Sugawara no Michizane. As the birthplace of Tenjin faith, it is revered for academic success, martial arts, and protection against misfortune, attracting many students and examinees.
