Enshrined in the main hall (Kondo) is Sonten, a deity believed to bestow vitality upon all things. The Kongosho altar in front of the hall is considered the most powerful spiritual spot on the temple grounds. From the main gate, the winding approach path climbs for about one kilometer up to the Kondo.
