Beyond the rare wari-haiden (split worship hall) stands a towering cedar tree rising high into the sky, a sacred tree that has watched over Mount Kurama for more than 800 years. The guardian lion-dog statue holding a child is said to bestow blessings for fertility and safe childbirth.
